Project Overview

The Zarqa City Departure and Arrival Center is a large-scale transport hub development located in Zarqa with a total area of approximately 78,000 m². The project includes commercial and administrative facilities, public transport parking areas, private vehicle parking, Park & Ride facilities, pedestrian connectivity elements, and a bridge connection to the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) station. The development is situated within a densely populated urban area experiencing significant traffic and mobility challenges. Commissioned by Madi & Partners Consulting Engineers for Land Transport Regulatory Commission, our team conducted a comprehensive Transport Impact Study (TrIS), including extensive traffic and transport surveys such as Automatic Traffic Counts (ATC), Manual Traffic Counts (MTC), occupancy surveys for public transport vehicles, classified ingress/egress counts, and Origin-Destination (OD) surveys. The assignment also included transport analysis, mitigation planning, stakeholder coordination, and presentation of the study to relevant authorities including GAM, MoPW, MoT, Zarqa Municipality, Army Agency, and Mawared to secure project approvals. The study assessed existing and future transport conditions across the study area and developed engineering recommendations and mitigation measures to enhance network performance and accessibility. A comprehensive mitigation layout was prepared for the surrounding intersections and integrated into the project masterplan to support efficient traffic circulation and sustainable transport operations.
