Comprehensive assessment of public transport operations in Amman covering the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, transit corridors, passenger movement patterns, and station performance to improve mobility across the city.
The BRT & Public Transit Surveys project involved a comprehensive assessment of public transport operations in Amman, with a particular focus on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system and surrounding transit corridors. The study evaluated transit operations, passenger movement patterns, station performance, and traffic conditions to support improvements in mobility, operational efficiency, and public transport planning across the city. Commissioned by Greater Amman Municipality through main consultant Repel and subconsultant SETS, our team carried out extensive public transport and traffic surveys, including transfer surveys, boarding and alighting counts, occupancy and frequency surveys, station saturation assessments, manual classified traffic counts, and transit vehicle counts. The assignment also included data analysis and preparation of the comprehensive survey report. The project delivered a comprehensive summary report presenting all field surveys, observations, raw data, and analytical findings related to the BRT and public transport system. The study provided valuable insights and recommendations to support future public transport planning and operational improvements within the BRT corridors and surrounding network.
